ECCO Safety Group Announces New European Managing Director

Boise, Idaho – ECCO Safety Group (ESG), a global leading manufacturer of commercial vehicle warning and safety equipment, is pleased to announce the appointment of Enrico Vassallo as Managing Director of its European Headquarters.

Vassallo will oversee offices in the Middle East, Europe and Africa, and comes to ESG with a profound insight into the United Kingdom’s (UK) bus industry. Most recently, he served as the CEO of e-Bus Division of Hybrid Kinetics Group and CEO and Executive Director of the Board of Optare Plc., one of the global leaders in the electrical bus industry in the UK. His additional previous experience includes President of Latin America Country at FPT Industrial, General manager of Irisbus Italia and Director of the Board of Temsa AS, a bus-designing and manufacturing company.

“Enrico’s vision, strategy and execution track record is exactly what ESG needs as we enter our next chapter,” said ESG CEO Doug Phillips. “We are confident that Enrico is a strong leader, and with his extensive knowledge and experience in the commercial vehicle industry, his business acumen will take ESG into the next level of growth as we capitalize on the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Vassallo graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from University of Genoa and speaks fluent Italian, English, French and Portuguese.

ECCO Safety Group Announces New President of Americas

ECCO Safety Group (ESG) announces John Ducharme as its new President of Americas, which became effective April 13. John recently served as the Vice President of Global Sales for Oregon-based Warn Industries, a Dover Company. During his time with Warn Industries, an off-road vehicle brand and automotive tier-one supplier, he helped the sales team develop a business strategy that lead to solid growth.

While at Warn Industries, John successfully launched new product lines for both the powersports and off-road segments. His background also includes leadership roles with E-Z-GO (Textron Specialized Vehicles) and The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. While at Goodyear, John held positions in Spain, Chile and Argentina, as well as a regional role leading the consumer tire division for Latin America. During his time at Goodyear, he was responsible for product and sales management, marketing and the implementation of go-to-market strategies.

“John’s proven track record with growth and sales, as well as his experience in Latin American sales, proved to be an ideal fit for ESG,” said ESG Chief Executive Officer Doug Phillips. “John will be an integral part of the global leadership team as we look to strengthen our brand in the North and South American markets.”

He has a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in finance and a master’s degree in international business and speaks fluent Spanish. John will serve on the Global Leadership Team with direct responsibility for the Americas division.

Doug Phillips Is Leading Change As Ecco Safety Group’S New Chief Executive Officer

Tim Callahan, Berwind Group president, is pleased to announce Doug Phillips as the Chief Executive Officer of ECCO Safety Group (ESG), effective July 1, 2016. In his role, Doug will lead strategy, leverage his extensive business experience and leadership skills, and expand on the great growth ESG has had. “We have talented people and great teams around the world, and that’s why I’m so excited about this role,” Doug explains. “My vision is to be sure we get the right strategy, the proper structure and process, and really focus on driving those few critical objectives to success.” Doug joined ESG in March of this year as President of the Americas and has proven adept at learning the business. Prior to joining ESG, his background included more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, marketing, sales and operations. He has held senior general management positions at Dover Corporation and Rexnord Industries. Doug will oversee operations of ESG’s offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. ESG operates nine manufacturing facilities on four continents, along with an additional four sales offices in Europe, Australia and China. In the near future, Doug will work with the Global Leadership Team to focus on strategy to drive growth, as well as traveling to meet ESG’s extensive network of customers and team members around the world to establish long-term, strategic initiatives.
